MVIS goes to St. Louis

The Missouri Valley Impressionist Society is proud to announce the location for its 2015 national event.  The MVIS 4th Annual Juried Art Show will be held in St. Louis, MO at the Portfolio Gallery & Education Center.  The exhibit will take place March 26 - May 16, 2015.  

We are very fortunate to have organizations house our delicate paintings in elegant spaces for a few months out of the year as we keep our mission alive.  Already, we've exhibited our largest event at the Kansas City Club (Kansas City, MO), SouthWind Art Gallery (Topeka, KS), and the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art (St. Joseph, MO).  Now we're heading off to the east end of the Missouri River Valley---St. Louis, MO.  Portfolio Gallery has been wanting to host our event and has invited us for the 2015 season.  The exhibit will be limited to 50-70 paintings depending on sizes.  Portfolio Gallery is housed in a historic 19th century residence located in the Grand Center Arts District---the hub for arts and entertainment in St. Louis.

The MVIS Annual Juried Art Show is our largest and most competitive event.  What began as a regional exhibition has gone national due to artists from outside the valley finding interest in participation.  In the past, artists from as far as Maryland, Florida and Texas have sought the opportunity to showcase  their work in our region.  These events allow artists to showcase their work in areas where they may not otherwise.  The shows have proven to be impressive and inspirational with great quality artwork.  As always, we encouraged that our members submit their best work.

MVIS membership is required for all MVIS exhibits.  Membership renewal for the 2015 season will be required.  Prospectus will be available soon.  More information will be announced as details come in.
