January '09 Exhibition

I will be showing two pieces at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art’s “35th Annual Membership Exhibition” this coming January. The Albrecht-Kemper Museum (St. Joseph, MO) allows each of its member artists to show two pieces of artwork. The exhibition is juried and awards are presented at the reception.
As a third year member of the Museum, this will be my second year showing in the annual event. I will be showing “Summer Day,” a 24x36 pastel on mat-board, currently hanging at the NOMO Arts Center. “Summer Day” will not be offered for sale, as it is part of my own private collection. A second piece for the show has not been decided.
This annual event is a must see. Artists from St. Joseph and Kansas City areas as well as the outskirts of NW Missouri participate. Last years event not only had the largest number of artistic participation (89 artists), but the largest geographical participation. Artists from Iowa and Nebraska had their work exhibited. 170 pieces were exhibited.
The Museum does a very fine job in keeping the quality of their showings at a professional level. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come. You will see many different styles and forms of art. It also gives you an opportunity to see the museums own collection. The reception is free of charge. Snacks, beer, wine, and other beverages will be provided by the museum.
