Summer Exhibits

This week went unproductively fast due to focusing on other things that needed to be done, such as taxes and yard work. As Spring is here, more exhibition opportunities become more available as organizations post their schedules for the remaining year. A couple of exhibits stand out that I am willing to participate in.

One is the Annual River Market Regional Exhibition this summer, July 10 - August 14. The organization in charge of it is the Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC) in which I am a member of. They are located in the River Market, downtown Kansas City, MO. Work must be accepted in order to exhibit. Though the submission deadline is coming up soon, May 20th, I am quite confident that I will have at least two new works by then.

The second is the annual Trails West Festival held in St. Joseph, MO. Trails West is an outdoor arts festival celebrating the unique cultural heritage of St. Joseph, MO. Now in its 17th year, the festival features fine arts, folk arts and fine crafts. Trails West is a juried fine art and fine craft show with space for up to 60 artists.

There is a selection process as well. I will be submitting 2-3 pieces for the Arts Incubator which showcases a limited number of new and/or emerging artists from the Northwest Missouri area. Applications are due May 30th. The festival is August 21-23.

Being from St. Joseph, I've only been to Trails West a few times as a spectator. This will be my first time participating in the event.
