Work in Progress

The background is finished. The mid-ground (walkway and grass area) is being detailed. The afternoon light in this one is not as dramatic as evening light would have been. Usually Impressionists work with morning or evening sunlight for more dramatic effects with light and shadow. I find at this rose garden, afternoon light offers more color---because more roses have exposure to the sunlight where they are brighter. This piece is half complete.
