Work in Progress

 

In the past week I have been working on and off in the studio, painting this local St. Joseph scene.  With a large scale painting (24"x48"), I don't want to get into too many details.  With this piece, I am trying to paint as loosely as possible.  Not every building will be in focus, and the foreground will become more abstract.  The only buildings I am paying most attention with details are the Buchanan County Courthouse and the two churches with the steeples---these buildings are what makes this scene more recognizable to the community.   Brushwork will be visible and the colors should blend in the eyes of the viewer from a distance.  Enjoy!
