The Missouri Valley Impressionist Society's Inaugural Juried Art Show was held at the Kansas City Club and is proving to be a success. Out of the 80+ members in our organization, 38 of them were chosen with a total of 54 paintings to hang in this year's event. We've been told it was the club's best and most professional group show they've ever had. The quality of the work showing is impressive, thanks to our juror---Michael Albrechtsen. Already, several paintings have sold just before the reception and they anticipate more sales in the future. I am honored to be part of such a fine group of artists.
The reception went well and we had a good crowd. I am pleased to have received Second Place for my pastel painting "Inviting Light." This will be the second award this painting has won. Last year it received Honorable Mention at the Albrecht-Kemper's Membership Exhibition.

It isn't too often all four Founders of the society get together due to travel and schedules. Greg and Jeff are in the KC Metro, Rachel is in Omaha, and I'm in St. Joseph. What a rare event.
