Another miniature pastel is on the way. Since these small works are done on pastel board, I have been experimenting with the use of water in the under-drawing---as seen in this photo. By using water (technique called "wet brushing") I am able to fill the grain of the surface more easily with color. Turpentine may also be used. Once the water has dried, layers of dry pastel can be applied---working my way forward.
