This is "Summer Rose Day at Loose Park." Portraying a hot summer day in June, the Kansas City Rose Society gets ready for their annual rose show. It wouldn't be complete without the ladies who fancy big hats and umbrellas, bringing character into the scene. At the time of this event, there weren't as many blooms in the garden as I have included in the picture. Due to the weather we have had through Spring, the garden wasn't in full blossom until later in the Summer. So as an artist, I worked around the simple flaw.
