Figurative art, also known as Figurativism, is a form of observation. The practice of figure drawing is the practice of seeing and understanding elements. Those formal elements are aesthetic effects created by design, upon which figurative art is dependent, include line, shape, color, light and dark, mass, volume, texture, and perspective. Though, the human form is one of the most challenging subjects, drawing the figure is a basic exercise that helps develop skills, especially in representational art.
