Work in Progress
As mentioned before in the past, Krug Park will be a focus of many paintings to come. I find the area rich with features and characteristics that are worthy of high quality work. A focal point, much similar to the first Impressionists who often painted the Seine Basin near Argenteuil in France, or Monet painting his own garden in a final series of work. Krug Park has much to choose and from many angles. The castle, the lagoon, the trees and the limestone are just a few things that make this place inspiring.
The pastel painting here depicts the front of the castle on a Spring day. Placement in the composition was drawn in with vine charcoal. Local colors are still being filled in the basic shapes. The castle is a focal point, and has been minor detailed. I plan to spend less time than usual, painting more loosely. Enjoy!
