Work in Progress

Here is the latest from my easel, an 18x24 Krug Park scene from the left side of the lagoon.  At the time I took the reference photo the leaves were beginning to change colors.  What caught my eye about this scene was the light & shadow pattern on the water.  To keep the painting interesting and from looking flat there needed to be some type of vanishing point or distant characteristics that give it a feeling of depth, so I took the picture from an angle rather than straight ahead from the shore.  As you can tell, the water's edge goes up and back and the tree line recedes in the distance.  Waterfowl will be added in the water later on.  Enjoy!
