Original vs Reproduced

Several years ago, I came to the decision of having my work reproduced or not. I decided not to. The work and money of having it done was one factor. Trying to sell the original would be another. Many people would be happy with just buying a print for a cheaper price. This would lose potential sales for original art, and before you know it, we have too much inventory on our hands that you can't get rid of.

Original art enhances the pleasures of ownership in which reproductions cannot. People tend to like the feeling of owning something others cannot possess. Would you rather own a one-of-a-kind, or something 20+ other people have hanging on their walls?

Original art can transform private homes or places of business into personal museums, often reflecting and enhancing the personality of the individual who owns it. It presents that one has an appreciation for the things that others have created. Whether you are collecting, investing, or just decorating, original art makes a great conversation accent on your wall.
