Monet's Water Lilies: Exhibition

A rare opportunity indeed. Three panels of Monet's "Water Lilies" triptych are brought together, on display for the first time in more than 30 years, at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. One of them in possession of the Nelson, the other two are borrowed for this event from the St. Louis Art Museum and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Always impressive to see the one panel hanging solo in the Nelson, but to see the three piece collection put together as one made it even more astonishing. Whether it's the size, the colors, the techniques used in creating, there are a variety of things that make it appealing and hard to walk away from. Noticeably, the room is filled with awe. The exhibit is very much worth seeing and I recommend it to everyone. This very well could be your only chance.

The Nelson: "The reputation of Monet's "Water Lilies" has only increased over the years. Part of their lasting appeal is that they cannot be fully appreciated at a glance. They require calm and careful viewing, so repeated visits are recommended, especially since it is anyone's guess when the three paintings will be brought together again."
