The middle-ground area is filled in. Minor detailing will be added, then aerial per-spective will take effect. I went ahead and formed the foreground with color, finding placement for some of the trees, the limestone, and the slope of the hill. Working the aerial perspective may alter the image of the buildings. Much of it will depend on the technique I choose to apply the pastel.
