Here is the final image of my second painting titled "Broken Sunset." You can tell by comparing both of them, I added two trees on the bottom right of this one. I felt that the space was too open and it needed something, plus they add some overlap which helps create depth. This piece is a good example of overcoming the issues when using reference photos. In a photograph, you would never see the details in the grass and trees, not even in the foreground due to the sunlight in the camera lense. By using your creative process you can overcome the issues by giving your own impression of what the scene may depict, filling in the foliage how you want to interpret it. This is my end result.
